You will require the following documents in order rent a trailer:
A. UK VALID DRIVER’S LICENCE & VALID PASSPORT IF LEAVING THE COUNTRY
B. A CURRENT UTILITY BILL (COUNCIL TAX, GAS OR BANK STATEMENT) WITH MATCHING ADDRESS NOT MORE THAN THREE MONTHS OLD. PLEASE NOTE A MOBILE PHONE BILL IS NOT ACCEPTABLE.
C. A VALID CERTIFICATE OF MOTOR INSURANCE.
D. THERE IS A PRE-AUTHORISED DEPOSIT OF £200.00 FOR UK HIRE AND £500.00 FOR EUROPEAN HIRE. OUR BRIAN JAMES RT6 ENCLOSED CAR TRANSPORTER REQUIRES A PRE-AUTHORISED DEPOSIT OF £500.00 FOR UK HIRE AND £750.00 FOR EUROPEAN HIRE.
Vehicle ratchet straps are available for hire at £5.00 each including vat. Should you require these please notify us when booking your trailer hire.
** Please note where ratchet straps are supplied, it is the hirer’s responsibility to inspect them for damage before using them. Berkshire County Trailers accepts no responsibility for any damage or accident caused by the use of ratchet straps. These terms form part of the Hire Agreement which is signed before the trailer leaves our premises for hire.
Berkshire County Trailers Ltd will not rent a trailer unless the above documentation is provided.
When the trailer is returned, all copies/photos of documentation are destroyed in accordance with GDPR.
Both the rental and deposit needs to be paid for with a debit or credit card (excluding AMEX), CASH IS NOT ACCEPTED.
Furthermore on the day of your rental please ensure you call us at least 30 minutes before you arrive. This will enable us to check your trailer before leaving and ready for when you arrive.
Lastly on the day of your return with the trailer we also require you to call at least 30 minutes before drop off to ensure a member of staff is available to meet you at the yard.
