Our privacy policy is intended to outline how we protect and use information that you give to Berkshire County Trailers Ltd when using our website. In order to comply with the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we have made changes to our Privacy Policy effective from 25th May 2018.

What Information is Collected

To be able to place an order from us we must collect certain information from you. Part of this requires you to give your contact information including email address. This information enables us to fulfil our order processing outlined in this privacy policy. Your registration details can easily be changed either through the account page available on the website or if you have not registered an account by contacting us through the ‘Contact Us’ page.

Your Name & Address

Your name, address and postcode is required so we can identify your delivery area and provide shipping options. Certain details are necessary for the courier companies to deliver your parcel. The courier companies we use will have a strict privacy policy in place and are only given the minimum details required to deliver your parcel. The courier companies will never pass on any of your details to a third-party company.

Your Email Address

To keep you updated about the status of your order, we will need your email address. If you have opted to receive marketing communications from us, then these may also be sent by email. If your order is being dispatched by a courier, they need your email address so they can keep you updated of the status of your order. A tracking number if required will be provided so you can check the status on the couriers’ website.

Your Telephone Number

Again a contact number is required with your order in case we need to check anything with you or if there are any problems with your order. We are also required to provide the courier with a telephone number in case they need to contact you when attempting to deliver.

Your Card Holder Name, Payment Card Number, Expiry Date and Issue Number

A debit or credit card is required to pay for any orders placed on our website. All our payments are made either via Stripe, Worldpay or PayPal. On payment, you will be taken to an external page which is fully secure and encrypted by the payment provider chosen. We do not collect or store any card details from you.

Your User Name and Password

If you create an account on our website, a user name and password will be required to log on to your account. Your account information is kept safe and can accessed every time you visit us. This makes it easier for your next order as you don’t need to add your details again. All that’s required is to log in. You will be able to see any past orders from within your account. Your password is stored in an encrypted format so nobody can see it. Password re-set is available should you forget it and is also available to change yourself from within your account.

Correspondence

If you contact us we may keep a record of that correspondence.

Third Party Information

If you decide to have your parcel delivered to a third party you are confirming that you have identified us to them and told them what we will use their information for, as set out in this Privacy Policy and that they have given permission for us to be able to use their personal information in the manner described.

When you visit our site, we will automatically receive your IP address, a unique identifier for your computer or other access device.

As explained already the main use of your information is to process your orders however we will also use it to help us understand your requirements and provide a better service. Payment Card Security

We use either Stripe, PayPal or Worldpay to take your payments. Whichever one is chosen, you will be taken to their secure page to add your details and confirm payment details. All three companies use SSL which ensures total privacy and security when you are making your payment. Their secure server encrypts your credit or debit card number details along with your personal information and changes them into bits of code that are then securely sent over the internet. Your browser will show when you are in a secure environment by displaying either a locked padlock or an image of a key in the grey bar at the bottom of the page. It may also warn you when you are entering a secured environment as you go to place your order.
